I'd like to use an analogy for our war in Iraq:
We have this great car that can go faster than others, as long as you drive on smooth and well paved roads. For this purpose, it’s well suited.
Unfortunately, this car has to drive on rough rutted roads not designed for highway use that causes many breakdowns and tremendous expense to keep our car running. The funding spent on these roads is minimal, but it sure affects the money we spend to keep our cars running on roads they were never designed for. In addtion, the road engineers force us to drive places we may not choose to go. We need to convert our road machine into a dune buggy (in more ways than one) so we can drive on such roads, and go where we want to go, as opposed to having others dictate the direction we need to go.
