Take a look at the fraud waste and abuse of the Medicare system and the way our veterans are treated in hospitals many times. If we cannot make these systems work better is the solution to put all under government ownership? This sounds a lot like taxation without representation. A recent example to go by is the “cash for clunkers” program. Payouts are slow in coming with lots of red tape to go with working to get the money. If this is what happens with a small program, imagine the delays in whole country run healthcare by the government!
In what I’ve heard about town halls, I have not heard about the LARGEST ROOT OF THE PROBLEM – LIABILITY. Liability drives the BIGGEST COSTS in the whole health care industry, thanks to the law industry. A doctor will order many tests not necessary to protect from a liability perspective. This is entwined in health care, pharmaceuticals, medical devices, and so on.
I am not against healthcare reform, but the approach taken to date by the Media is to label anyone against it as something like a mobster or Nazi. This is pure propaganda and is reminiscent of regimes that take over countries. READ YOUR HISTORY BOOKS.
For some reason, Congress does not want to touch this with a 100’ pole. Maybe it’s a good time to ask why.
